Επίσκεψη συναισθημάτων - A visit full of feelings

Μια κοινή εμπειρία

Μία αίθουσα μουσείου,

Εννιά μεγάλες οθόνες,

Εννιά διαφορετικές σκηνές, πρωταγωνιστές, όργανα και φωνές,

Ένα μεγάλο σπίτι,

και ένας κοινός σκοπός....

Το έργο του καλλιτέχνη Ragnar Kjartansson στο Ινστιτούτο Μοντέρνας Τέχνης στη Βοστώνη με γέμισε με συναισθήματα έντονα. Σε μια αίθουσα όπου ο κόσμος μπαινόβγαινε, μόλις άρχισε η μουσική, όλοι κοιτάζαμε ξαφνιασμένοι, εντυπωσιασμένοι και αναζητούσαμε τις αντιδράσεις ο ένας του άλλου. Το έργο "The visitors" μας μετέτρεψε όλους από άγνωστους επισκέπτες μουσείου σε συνοδοιπόρους ενός μουσικού ταξιδιού. Ένα έργο που ολοκληρώθηκε το 2012 είναι τόσο επίκαιρο, τονίζοντας την ανάγκη της ομαδικής δουλειάς, του μοιράζομαι, του περιμένω και του προσπαθώ για ένα κοινό αποτέλεσμα. Τα συναισθήματα μου μπορεί να ήταν πολύ διαφορετικά αν έβλεπα αυτό το έργο πριν την πανδημία. Αλλά μετά από αρκετούς μήνες με περιορισμούς και τηλεεργασία, κατανοώ στο έπακρο την ανάγκη να νιώσουμε όλοι ότι ανήκουμε σε μια ομάδα, να νιώσουμε όλοι μαζί ένα κοινό συναίσθημα που θα μας φέρει πιο κοντά, να δούμε χαμόγελα και να αντάλλάξουμε βλέμματα γεμάτα σημασία.

A common experience

Οne museum room,

Nine large screens,

Nine different scenes, protagonists, instruments and voices,

One big house,

and one common goal . . . .

The work of the artist Ragnar Kjartansson at the Institute of Modern Art in Boston filled me with strong emotions. In a room where people come and go, as soon as the music started we were all in awe, glancing at each other's reactions such that we can confirm this overwhelming experience. The project "The visitors" turned us all from unknown museum visitors to companions of a common musical journey. This project was completed in 2012 but is relevant now more than ever, emphasizing the need for teamwork, sharing, being patient and striving for a common result. My feelings may have been different if I had seen this work before the pandemic. But after several months of constant restrictions and home office, I fully understand  the need to feel part of something bigger, to share a common purpose that brings us closer, to see smiles and to exchange meaningful looks.
